My father came to town from Minnesota for another visit and to help out on the farm. He has been helping me keep up with the weeding and getting ready for distribution this past Thursday. The tomatoes on the vine are getting big and a few peppers are almost ready to harvest. The three sisters planting of the squash, corn, and beans are doing amazingly well. This summer's intense heat has made many of the plants want to bolt early. The recent rains have made many of the other plants, like the kale, explode with new leaves and made the beets grow to an amazing size. Most of the fall crops have been planted to ensure a continuous harvest while the garlic is harvested and drying in the barn.
